First I would like to note that each guild bank slot costs about 15g, so if you plan on putting something in the Guild Bank you should weigh its value before donating... if it's less than 15g either sell the item and donate the gold or it should be something very special like a reputation item or a stacked item where the stack is valued higher than 15g.

Secondly, I use a mod called Ark Inventory. It has auto sorting and allows me to arrange custom "bags" in the bank to sort out items. It's automatic and looks pretty with only an initial setup time... then I never worry about it again. If the bank looks messy to you and you feel so inclined, feel free to shift things around within the Tab to make sense to you. If you need help setting up Ark Inventory(and yes you CAN make it look like lots of bags if you like that) give me or Akina a call.

I've made a few minor changes to the Guild Bank as follows:

Tab One is now the Free for All Tab. All members in good standing can use this tab freely to store items temporarily or to offer up to lower level members in the guild. Anything from Burning Crusade or older should go here. You can dump whatever you want here, or use it to transfer items between accounts quickly, if you need to. This tab will be cleared out periodically. I will make an In Game Calendar Event when this will occur with plenty of time. Once the date and time have passed, everything in that tab will be sold in the AH or to a vendor towards the purchase of Tab Six.

Tab Two - Finished Goods. This can include any type of bag, but should be centered around WotLK items or better. This would be crafted items from most of the professions and WotLK Blues and Purples people feel like donating. Items from Burning Crusade or older will be shifted to the FFA tab as space becomes available.

Tab Three - Raid Goods. This should be for Fish Feasts, potions, flasks, elixirs, and hunter ammo donations. These items are intended for raiding only and not everyday usage. Other members spend time and money making these items for the guild's benefit and they should be saved for raid times only. Again restrict items here to WotLK items, please. I suggest that Hunters/Engineers store extra Ice Crown Bullets/Arrows here if they are so inclined.

Tab Four - Recipes/Faction - This is supposed to be for any Tradeskill Recipe or Reputation building item. I've kept the Burning Crusade items in here for now, but eventually they will shift to the FFA tab as we lose the other items. Older Recipes are ok for now, but if the tab fills up then recipes requiring less than 400 skill to learn will shift to the FFA tab and then to the AH.

Tab Five - Raw Materials - Again this should be for WotLK raw materials only. Frozen Orbs will also go here if you would like to donate them. Gems should be of Rare Quality or higher. Elementals should be combined into their Eternal format if possible.

Tab Six(pending) - To Be Determined. This might be reserved for Guild Heirloom items and Recipes when Cataclysm comes out... not sure how the interface for the Guild is changing. I would like to see this tab purchased by Summer 2010 just in case.


I've also setup additonal ranks in the guild to account for authenticators. I've looked around at other guilds and many are requiring officers or anyone with Guild Bank Control to have them. I'm not requiring officers have them, but in order for anyone to have more than token access to the bank, they must have one. Ranks have the following access:
All Ranks - Can see All tabs and dontate items or gold freely
Initiates - cannot withdraw any items
Alternates - Limited access to FFA Tab
Member- Limited access to FFA Tab
Veteran Member - Full FFA Access, Limited other Tab access to prevent abuse.
Council Alt - Full FFA Access, Limited other Tab access to prevent abuse.
Council Member - Full FFA Access, Limited other Tab access to prevent abuse.
Council Elder - Full FFA Access, Limited other Tab access to prevent abuse.
Council Leader - Unlimited Access (Blizzard imposed)


If anyone has any suggestions or a better way to organize the bank, talk to me and we can see if makes sense. I've had the opportunity to talk to a few guild leaders of very large guilds and they have a similar setup and it's worked well for them.

I think we should have old bags in the bank, because they can be cast off and reused for lowbies.

Yep old bags are ok they go in the Finished goods tab for reuse.
